Working with a recruiter is a great tool for any job search, but it’s not the total answer. No matter what anyone tells you, no recruiter will ever be as interested in getting you the right job as you are. Ultimately, your job search is your responsibility.

Candidates don’t seem to understand the concept of recruiters, the recruiting business, and how it all impacts their job search. Recruiters are an excellent resource and you should use several if possible, but it’s in your best interest to know how they work. As a Candidate, you need to understand how the system works before you can really gain the most value. Once you understand the system, you can learn to flip the script and get that system to work for you.
